Nguyen-Son Vo (a.k.a. Võ Nguyên Sơn in Vietnamese) was born in Hue city, Vietnam, in 1980. He received Ph.D. degree in Communication and Information Systems from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, in June 2012. He is serving as the Deputy Director of Institute of Fundamental and Applied Sciences, Duy Tan University, Vietnam. He has been awarded the Best Paper Award at the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) 2016 and the prestigious Newton Prize 2017. His research interests focus on self-powered multimedia wireless communications, quality of experience provision in wireless networks for smart cities, and IoT for disaster and environment management .
